Farmleigh House and Estate welcomes all visitors. We are committed to making Farmleigh as accessible as possible and we aim to make everyone’s day out enjoyable.
The OPW offers free entry to Farmleigh House for those with disabilities and their accompanying carers. These complimentary visitor and carer tickets can be obtained in the Motorhouse reception in the courtyard.
Wheelchair users, visitors with additional needs or requirements should contact us in advance to arrange your visit either by email at farmleighguides@opw.ie or by calling +353 1 815 5914. The ground floor of Farmleigh House is fully accessible to wheelchair users. The OPW guide will accompany you to the wheelchair accessible entrance and exit before and after your visit.
Guide Dogs
All recognised guide, assistance or service dogs — including assistance dogs in training — are welcome at Farmleigh, and are permitted to accompany their owners on house tours.

Please contact us in advance if you require ISL interpretation for your tour.
Toilets
Visitor toilets are located in the courtyard including a wheelchair accessible toilet. There is also a wheelchair accessible toilet at the Boathouse Café.
The Boathouse Café
The Boathouse Café is all on ground level, is wheelchair accessible and has a wheelchair accessible toilet.
Galleries
Entry to all the exhibitions in Farmleigh Gallery is free and the gallery is all on ground level, providing us with full disabled access. The Cowshed theatre is accessible by ramp or steps and all on one level inside.
Gardens
There are a variety of surfaces on the paths at Farmleigh. Due to the natural terrain of the grounds one or two of the paths have steps /slopes, which may become slippery in wet weather. The terraces in the sunken garden are accessed by steps and therefore unsuitable for wheelchair users.
Markets
The markets at Farmleigh are outdoors and located at the staff carpark beyond the galleries.
Disability Parking
There are 9 disability parking spaces in Farmleigh car park. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and parking is free for all visitors.
Moving between the carpark and Farmleigh Estate
There is a five minute walk from the main visitor carpark to Farmleigh Estate.
Signs
The signs throughout Farmleigh Estate include Braille lettering and some include a large-scale map of the estate.
