How do I get to Farmleigh?
Farmleigh is located in Castleknock but the entrance to Farmleigh Estate is in the Phoenix Park. Click here for directions on how to find us.
Is there visitor parking at Farmleigh Estate?
Yes, the visitor carpark at Farmleigh holds 621 cars and has 9 accessible parking spots.
Can I go inside Farmleigh House?
Yes, access to Farmleigh House is by guided tour. Guided tours take place between 10.30am and 4.30pm.
How do I buy a ticket to visit Farmleigh House?
Tickets for guided tours can be bought by online booking or onsite from our ticket desk in the Motorhouse reception in the courtyard in Farmleigh Estate.
I have a valid OPW Heritage Card/ Dublin Pass. Do I still have to queue for a ticket in Farmleigh?
Yes. Our staff will check your card and then issue a ticket for the next available guided tour.
How do I make a group booking?
If you wish to make a tour booking for a group 10 people or more, please call or email us well in advance: +353 1 8155914 or farmleighguides@opw.ie.
Can I pay using my credit card?
Yes, we accept all credit cards except American Express for house tours and in the Boathouse Café. (Market traders may not accept credit cards.)
Does Farmleigh House have wheelchair access?
All areas except the billiards room in Farmleigh House are universally accessible. A member of staff will take you to the accessible entrance before your guided tour begins. Wheelchair accessible toilets are available in the courtyard with the visitor toilets. The Boathouse Café and Farmleigh Gallery are fully accessible.
Can I take a buggy/pram into Farmleigh House?
Unfortunately, prams and buggies are not allowed inside Farmleigh House. We will store these for you in the Motorhouse reception during your visit.
Why do I have to leave my backpack in a locker?
To avoid accidental knocks and scrapes to delicate items along walkways and corridors, we ask that you leave your bag in one of the free lockers in the Motorhouse before starting your visit of Farmleigh.
Do you have an audio guide?
No, access to Farmleigh House is on a guided tour only.
Can I take photographs in Farmleigh House?
You may take photographs in select rooms while visiting Farmleigh for personal use, however, please turn off your flash, as our collection is light sensitive. Please also note that selfie sticks and tripods are not allowed to be used inside the building during your visit.

Can I book a venue at Farmleigh?
Farmleigh hosts government conferences and events only and is not available for hire for corporate or private events.
Can I get married at Farmleigh?
Farmleigh is not available for wedding ceremonies. You may apply to take wedding photographs in the grounds subject to terms, conditions and insurance requirements being met. Email farmleighguides@opw.ie for application form and terms and conditions.
Can I use Farmleigh House and Estate for photo shoots or filming (including drone footage)?
Commercial photoshoots, filming and drones are not permitted at Farmleigh.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the Motorhouse reception, galleries and Boathouse Café.

Can I bring my dog to Farmleigh?
Dogs are welcome in Farmleigh Estate but must be kept on leads. Dogs are not permitted inside any buildings including Farmleigh House, galleries, Motorhouse reception, Boathouse Café and visitor toilets.
Can I park my bike in Farmleigh Estate?
Yes, there is a bike rack at the café and another located beside the donkey field.
Is there an ATM in Farmleigh Estate?
No.
At what time does Farmleigh Estate open?
Farmleigh Estate opens daily at 10am.
At what time does the carpark close?
Last entry to Farmleigh carpark is 5pm. Farmleigh Estate closes at 6pm.
