Join us at Farmleigh House where we celebrate the four Irish Nobel Laureates in Literature.
On this tour we shine a light on the life of William Butler Yeats, the first Irish person to win the prestigious Nobel prize in literature. He is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated literary figures to ever emerge from Ireland being the driving force of the Literary Revival in Ireland and Co-Founder of the Abbey Theatre.
He was publicly recognised in later life with a nomination to the Senate, an honorary doctorate from Trinity College and the coveted Nobel Prize for Literature in 1923. We explore the source of his inspiration from his Sligo childhood, his time spent at Coole Park with Lady Gregory to his rustic retreat at Thoor Ballylee.
We also hear about the love of his life, his incredibly artistic siblings, his strong associations with artists, writers, political activists and cultural icons.
